Superfast Kent

I've noticed that a lot of exchanges in Kent are now listed as "future exchange" (at OR Where and when) and many of which are listed as FTTC/P. Can someone confirm if this is correct and that BT are planning to install FTTP in some very rural exchanges?

I'm guessing that FTTP will be used only in areas that FTTC wouldn't work at all or perhaps deliver less than ~24Mbps? i.e. lines longer then 1~1.5km?

Kent is beginning the rollout under the BDUK programme and areas for cab's are being marked up accordingly.

Back at the beginning of the commercial rollout there were several exchange areas marked for FTTC/P which, as far as I know, have only had FTTC rolled out (Westgate (Thanet), Folkestone were two that I can recall).

I had a look at the list and there were a handful of areas within Ashford that were marked for FTTP. Seeing as Ashford was early in the commercial rollout for Kent, I would hazard a guess that Openreach are in-filling and/or getting ready to add Ashford to the FTTPoD list.

The Kent exchange to which I am connected is now marked FE. There is nothing in Kent BDUK plans to suggest that they (BT) will provide me with FTTP. I am about 5km cable distance from the cabinet.

No speed estimates have been added to the BT Wholesale checker ... so we can't tell yet.
