Sky is "special" when it comes to router authentication on FTTC, most routers do not send the requisite DHCP option. So be careful.

How do you connect the airport to the modem, given the odd username and password that Sky use?

... and the Billion 7800DX and DXL models, the 8200N, also a couple of the new Draytek's do as well and not forgetting anything that can run DD-WRT and pfSense.

From a purely personal pov, and as an Apple user, I wouldn't recommend the Airport Extreme. It's good at what it does but, for what you get, imo it's over-priced.

Mainly- only 3 LAN ports, very limited (essentially zero) "tweakability" and, as far as I can find out, it still doesn't support native IPv6 (which, I concede, may not be of concern to you).

The Billion that others have mentioned is better value, my preference would be an Asus RT-N66U (I've used both), but I can't be sure if the Asus will handle a Sky login (edit- yes it will, see Batboy's reply).
