When will I be able to see BT Wholesale Availability Checker to show up FTTC date availability & estimate speed? As my cabinet 8 FTTC is now finally stood up but still nothing yet on BT Wholesale Availability Checker.

I was wondering why is this cabinet 12 (FTTC cabinet installed there) where there is no pcp 12 nearby as I found one pcp 12 almost 10 minutes walk away from it.

I thought BT want FTTC cabinet to be next within PCP cabinet within 100m?
The person who live in the back garden are very lucky to have easy FTTPoD installation when it available as it just by the wall from the back garden of the person house.

In my observations over the years the checker can show an estimate at anytime, could be months before the cabinet is installed or equally could be months after. When it does start to show an estimate it may also didisappear for a while only to come back again later.

Thread has hit that magical mysterious size where we close it down and invite pick to back link and start a part 2 thread if there is a need for a continuation
I question whether there really was a need to continue this matter with the pointless selfish questions you continually dream up.
So you've had a FTTC cabinet installed nearby, so what? So have many other people, but many probably haven't, so why not just consider yourself fortunate and let the process run it's course which you've already been told is progressing nicely.

It would be polite to phone Richard Branson and tell him soon you won't be needing your Internet service from him.

I would not take that date as gospel
my rfs date changed 3 different times
but as soon as it is says available then you sign up, I had lead time of 10 days, my install is on xmas eve

In my case I had to wait 5 weeks after placing my order. It all depends on engineer availability if a home visit is required.
Mind you self-install will be an option depending on the ISP you go with so it could be much quicker.

Updated on my cabinet: Just saw BT Openreach this morning at my cabinet as he open the FTTC cabinet as I asked him polite "When will I getting FTTC live service?" he say to me "There is a problem delaying as the new line card request had been push back date, I expecting it won't be ready until May 2014".
I am furious and going to fired away email to Olivia & Richard (project manager for FTTC cabinet) and also I was shocked that I noticed BT Availability Checker had removed FTTC estimate and speed on their database.
Disgraceful, why line card had been delaying and why it taking five months to wait? The card line should pre-order earlier? Not happy at all.

You'll get use to it. I've contacted Openreach twice since July for an estimate on when I'd get fibre. It started at October, then December and I'm still without, what I'd consider, decent broadband. I might be able to gather enough money to move before they got it together.

U are insulted me as your quote is not very nice at all, but did I ever insult u as I don't think so as I got every respect for others.
Ignitionnet replied to your post at the site: .
I loathe the lack of an ignore function on this forum. That and my own inability to ignore without one.
I hate to break it to you but no-one cares about your cabinet, no-one cares about it getting enabled beyond wishing it would so that you'd stop posting every detail about it, and no-one needs to read your correspondence with Liv Garfield apart from perhaps the board of BT and the shareholders who could quite legitimately ask whether this is a good use of her time.
You are either playing on disability like crazy, in which case I can't write my opinion of you on this forum, or she's really bored and winding down with BT already. I have a strong suspicion you play on disability a fair bit given the various concessions you extracted from Virgin Media on your time, though I hope not as that's an insult to each and every disabled person who does their utmost to avoid needing concessions, including myself.
Shedloads of people have seen the odd delay with cabinets and most don't see fit to post on here every time the availability checker changes.
Would you please stop posting on this. There is absolutely no value in relating this on here. It helps no-one, it achieves nothing. It's just you stomping like a petulant child because you're stuck with just Virgin Media and 18Mb+ DSL. Oh the pain.
Times like these I really wish I were neuro-typical and could more easily ignore things. It doesn't happen often, but this is one of those times.

I thought that was an old ruling though? At least six months ago, because my cab was being pushed back just by one month increments even though BT had absolutely no solution in place to get fibre to my cabinet. They were trying to come in aerially over the telephone poles but the tech wasn't available or something. This is the first time for me that they've put it back three months, despite NGA saying it'll be done within a month. Of course once again, not one trace of any action anywhere on this cab, so Im still doubtful for mine

Well the cabinet I am connected to was put up in November 2012, Estimate for go live was April 2013. This is still getting pushed back every month so currently says January 2014. So 14 months and counting, a cabinet which is probably 1km further up the same road further from the exchange was up and running in November 2013.
There is very little point in contacting open-reach as they just fob you off with false information, or are so vague it is just a waste of time.
|
|
"Estimate" and thats all it is .
|
|
For my old house, the exchange went live in November 2010, and all the cabinets in my surrounding area were live and orderable in December 2010.
My cabinet was physically installed at the same time as the others (October 2010), but didn't go live at the same time. It eventually went live at the end of March 2011, and took until June for my order to be installed; from the various roadworks that happened, it looks like they had problems finding power for it.
It is certainly frustrating when you are on the receiving end, but it is also perfectly understandable - there will be some percentage of cabinets where problems are encountered, and the cheapest way to deal with them in the rollout is to put them to one side, and sort things out later.
At the time, Openreach had no method to find out what was going on, so you just had to employ patience. It is a useful commodity, sometimes.

Rather than constantly exchanging e-mails, you already know it won't be too long, simply read this post, sign up to a page watching service( like this), and insert a URL with your phone number. You will then be automatically notified when the BT checker is changed i.e. when your cabinet goes live.

of course not, some comments have been made about him apparently living only of benefits? hence my comment.
of course he could be on DLA "and" in a well paid job since DLA has nothng to do with employment.
But regardless of his situation the posts lately seem very troll like.

As you wish, but 'language'? The inferred word was 'stalking'.

That's even more childish than the original post. You would be better deleting it, to stop yourself looking a complete fool as well as crude.

Careful not to read too much into someone else's timeline. Some go live within a couple of weeks of being stood, some take months. The cabinet serving me was accepting orders within less than 3 weeks.

Any subject talk about DLA , JSA or other benefits is pointless on this thread. This thread is all about broadband fibre, not all about benefits entitled or not. Pointless thread in my view. The fact is I am self employed (working from home) and do not claim any of these benefits. End of. Be careful who u are accused.

It certainly is a pointless thread for sure.
As this was a response to me directly is your last sentence a threat?

Can I take you back a couple of years to something you put on another forum, just as a guideline to your credibility...
I had upgrade and downgrade on ADSL 88th times since 2002. Upgrade and downgrade 28th times since 2007 with virgin media.
It cost me nearly £4,300 to upgrade, downgrade with ADSL and Virgin Media Cable since 2002 and 2007. My monies going to ran out in my bank!
£4,300 isn't coming from my money! It from government tax money that paid for me!
I am still in talk and discussing with British Telecom Business of possible getting a Leased Line Fibre Optic (1:1) 100Meg down and 100Meg up £799.99 exc vat per month) 12 months contract with no throttle, no traffic management, totally UNLIMITED usages.
This post is a good one too.
I'm sure I could go on but you get the point. That you start that thread saying you'd signed up to an 18 month contract for everything but less than 5 months later were on 30Mb is beyond comedy by the way, but not abnormal if you are to be believed.
Before you hand out thinly veiled threats you may wish to get your own house in order and keep your messages consistent. You could also try simply not behaving like some parody character. I'm sure that if you actually work from home and earn enough to pay those kinds of costs you are doing something requiring a considerably higher level of intelligence and literacy than you show in your online identity.
Interesting, by the way, that in all the posts of yours I can remember where you complain of faults not once do you say that it's affecting your ability to work from home, or forcing you to use backup ADSL to do your job.
Obviously I may be wrong but that seems anomalous, as does your messing with your Plusnet DSL line potentially causing instability. The last thing someone who works from home is going to do is mess with the things that allow them to earn money. I am assuming that your job is something that requires Internet as I struggle to think of many other things that could supply the level of income you appear to think you have.
Just FYI I couldn't care less if you're genuinely disabled and need the welfare safety net, that's exactly what it's there for. The only thing that remote bothers me is the way you conduct yourself online, which is irrelevant to your financial or social status.
As anyone else may have noticed I have rather a thin tolerance for being threatened online, especially given the new, illiberal laws that have been put in place. Such things could seriously harm me and my family.
In fact, stuff it. No ignore button, though I have asked for an ignore to be put in place by staff, and due to my own 'disability' (government considers it as such) I struggle to leave things alone or ignore than 'manually', so so long, and thanks for all the fish TBB. I can't be doing with people who post like they're on 4Chan.
