Fibre Annoys Me:

I hate fibre, had been waiting ages for it then when it come to my town I couldn't get it at my cabinet, and still months down the line and I still cant get it, but the road behind my house can get it, how annoying.

But, but, but - if Fibre annoys you, why does it bother you that you haven't got it?

Good point, but that is why it annoys me.

If you have a cooperative person in the house behind yours, you could get a line installed and feed from there. A 100m Ethernet connection through the gardens should do the trick .

So lack of fibre annoys you, and quite a few others to be honest. Have you checked with your local council to see if you are covered by the BDUK project (or indeed checked with BT to see if you are in their plans just not yet done)?

Thing is i am already getting 20Mb with standard ADSL so it isn't that my internet is slow which is why i want it, it is just the fact i cant have it and for a extra couple of quid i could be getting 80Mb.

Then spend your couple of quid on taking Viagra!

That gets at me too! The price of ADSL and VDSL aren't very different, but yet the services are very different. It's not fair at all.

I know a few people who get good speeds on their ADSL and when asked about fibre say they have no interest as they would be paying more for it and yet not doing anything more with it.

My contract is coming to it's end in the next 4 months, I get 10 Mb/s which for me is fine, but I know full well I can get fibre and phone cheaper than what I am paying, the problem for me they are with companies I don't really want anything to do with , like Talk Talk. So I am going to stay as I am.

But on those speeds, it would suggest that your exchange is right by your house.

Is your line supported direct to the exchange? I was under the impression that all those lines that are connected directly to the exchange would not get FTTC? I could be wrong though.
