I am due to get upgraded to vdsl for which an engineer appointment has been arranged in a couple of weeks in order to fit a standard vdsl faceplate.
However I have ordered a mk 2 openreach faceplate which I intend to fit myself.
Will my isp be likely still insist an engineer is required if I say I dont need a visit as I have already fitted my own filter.?

Insist an engineer is required for what?
|
|
|
(The particular isp I am with will fit a standard non openreach one.) ?
Are you sure? In fact, are you sure your ISP will fit anything?

Regardless of anything else how exactly is your ISP supposed to know that you've fitted a faceplate yourself?
Your ISP won't care less whether you have fitted a mark 2 faceplate or the pope has blessed your NTE, they will follow their policies, whether they be self-install or an engineer visit to the property.

[censored]!, I forgot to mention I had ordered vdsl for which an appointment has been made for an engineer to fit a vdsl face plate!
The question might make more sense now, I'll edit the 1st post.

If the ISP don't supply their own VDSL modems they'll order you an engineer install, end of.
If the ISP supply their own VDSL modems they still may order you an engineer install, end of.
They couldn't care less whether you have installed your own faceplate or have the flying spaghetti monster filtering your phone line, they have a process in place and they are extremely unlikely to manually override it and place a non-standard order for a single residential customer.

I gather from previous threads that you have a filtered faceplate at the moment. Is that correct?
If it is, you will need your original NTE5A faceplate or a new one. Your existing filtered faceplate will not fit into the Mk2 VDSL2 plate.
