Can anyones advise me for my fibre installing next week on the 13th. I understood BT Engineer will bring his BT Openreach Modem to hook up. But, which one is the best reliable one and great speed.
BT Home Hub 5 or use my own Netgear DGND3700v2 Router?

After it's installed, you will be able to try out all the combinations and report back

if you are having bt infinity installed then you will not get a openreach modem.
The homehub5 connect direct.
I have had the hh5 for a couple of months and am happy with it. on 80/20

I am aware of it. I will hide HH5 away in cupboard and let the engineer installed on it own. I didn't order via BT Infinity 2 as I order with Plusnet Fibre Unlimited.

Can you see line stats (full of it eg: noise margin, line attenuation, crc error counts under HH5)?

No, once it had been installed it staying there because of the first ten days training period to stable the line. So, I won't be swapped around modem/router/hh5.

You can do it on installation day with no side effects, as long as you power off the modem before disconnecting it from the phone line.

As has been posted a gazillion times, there is no 10-day training period on FTTC and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. However, don't mess about too much in the first 48 hours.
