Exchange to be upgraded to FTTC/P

I notice today that in the 'coming soon' pdf on OpenReach's site, that my exchange has changed from FTTC to FTTC/P. I'm not getting excited yet, not least because my exchange has been listed as being upgraded to FTTC and subsequently delayed since as far back as 2011.

Anyway, my question - what does FTTC/P mean? Is it that just a small collection of properties or businesses will benefit from FTTP? Have any other exchanges been recently upgraded with a similar status so that we can learn from practical examples?

It means as plans stand currently they intend to deploy FTTC and some FTTP (usually just a small amount of FTTP), maybe for 20 or 30 properties right outside the exchange. Numbers are not known until they finish the work.

You don't get a choice, it is down to what they deliver to your cabinet/street.

Yes, it means a mix of FTTC and FTTP, usually predominantly FTTC

If correct, once again it pays to live near the exchange!

Oh and I know I won't get a choice, I was just interested in what the odds were. Looks like I can forget any hopes of FTTP, which is fine, FTTC is still a dream for this area!

It may not be properties close to the exchange, it may for instance be properties connected to a cabinet with no available power nearby, or a place where a new cabinet cannot be readily located.
