link from Integrated Layer 2 switch to RDSLAM is faulty?

Hi All,

My fibre connection went down this morning for a while and connected at the lowest point it ever has (3months ago I had 51meg, this has steadily dropped to the point today where I have 31) and when running a test it came back with

Link from Integrated Layer 2 switch to RDSLAM is faulty

Any ideas exactly what this is, I have a rough idea about the RDSLAM but no idea what the integrated layer 2 switch is

The layer 2 switch is located in the handover exchange and is where each CP e.g. BT Wholesale , can connect to.

Any idea how this faulty link will effect my connection?, I guess what I'm asking is could this be part of a reason why I've lost 40% of my download speed in less than 3 months?, or is it not a major thing?, I'm not really up to date on FTTC apart from the basic things.

If what Ribble says is correct (and I have no reason to doubt that,) then a fault at the handover end of things will not be having an affect on your sync rate, as this is negotiated between the DSLAM and your modem over the pair.
