Hello all,
I live in a new build flat in a 'Fibre Ready' area (by which I mean that the cabinet that serves our flat has a Superfast Fibre Ready sticker on it).
However our flat is not eligible for fibre services. I've contacted BT and they fobbed me off with "Oh that's all BT openreach's thing, and they're not customer facing." I've also tried contacting the builders of the flats to enquire as to whether there are any legal/planning issues preventing the connection.
Am I missing something? Or is there just no way to get any information on this?
I've run the BT wholesale tool and the results are as follows:
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 17 -- 10 to 19.5 Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 17 Up to 1.5 10 to 19.5 Available
ADSL Max Up to 7.5 -- 6.5 to 8 Available
WBC Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Other Offerings
Copper Multicast -- -- -- Available
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

What exchange and cabinet does the checker actually say you are connected to?

Oh, and my exchange is Brighton - Hove, cabinet number 105.

What did you put into the checker? Phone number, or address, or just the postcode? Did it give you a cabinet number? Using just the postcode is not reliable.
We could do with knowing which exchange it is as well .
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I used my phone number to run the check.

I concur, there are plenty of cabinets enabled for FTTC, but there are over 150 cabinets on the exchange and cabinet 105 is probably in the smallest 10% of cabinets, i.e. they have enabled most of the larger foot print ones i.e. more homes so probably more customers so payback period will be less.

Ok thanks for this.
Is there a resource I can use to keep tracks on this cabinet?

The BT Wholesale checker is the main public one

Thanks for the replies guys. Good to know its just a case of waiting rather than any problem with the fact that my flat is a new build.

I'd add you might want to register your interest with the East Sussex goesussex council website. They may be helpful?!
Thanks
