Time between a new cab install and service being provided

Hi all,

I was hoping you could shine some light on how long it might take from a new FTTC cab being built to the service being provided.

It's been erected for about 2 weeks after our local councillor kicked up a massive [censored] storm with the local BT project managers. Now while it's great it's there at the moment it's nothing more than a large green monolith. Does anyone know the average time between it being built and it being connected to the exchange?

Mine was about 6 months

sounds very od -- the cabs are scheduled months in advance and dont just happen-- so unless there was a reason why this one could not be stood -- seems a bit odd !!!

As said it can take a while it usually depends how the power is supplied if i remember correctly

so it could be 1 month or 6

all depending on permissions ect.

I'm wondering the same; according the to the April 2014 spreadsheet my cabinet is scheduled for May 2014. The cabinet has been installed and its location is right beside the door for the transformer for a large block of flats - so electricity ought not be any big difficulty!

Just.. there's nothing on the checker, not even a due date. What does yours say? Does it offer any suggestions at all?
