TalkTalk 38mb - Leamington Spa

I'm about to move to a new place in Leamington and need a new Broadband provider. I was with virgin, but apparently for installation they would have to drill through the floorboard of our new home which we aren't allowed to do. The decision now lies between BT's 40mb broadband package or Talk Talk's 38mb package. Talk Talk is certainly much cheaper but is their speed actually any good?

I have been a TT customer since August 2012. I started on ADSL2+ and never had any slow downs there.

I am now on FTTC 80Mb and again, in the 2 months I have had it I have not had any speed issues at all.

BT do not advertise a 40Mbps service, they are not allowed to. Both are advertised as "up to 38Mbps" and are 40/10 FTTC products.

My dad is on TalkTalk and has had no problems with them.

My girlfriends Grandad is on TalkTalk, had one problem with them on the line, but the bigger problem was dealing with their call centre.

Don't know if BT are offshore call centres or not, but that was one of the reasons I chose Plusnet instead.

The Talk Talk product is 40/2 not 40/10.

From the TT order page:

Up to 38Mb download/1.9Mb upload
