Just received this email below. The strange thing is Stechford exchange was enabled last year. However our cabinet (24) has not been upgraded to FTTC.
We have been made aware that some people have received an incomplete version of this email - please accept our apologies and find below an updated version.
Dear *******,
Thanks for telling us that you're interested in superfast fibre broadband.
We're really pleased to let you know that your local exchange, Stechford, has been added to our rollout plans.
You can get more details about the current status of the Stechford exchange, and find out when superfast fibre broadband will be available, using our new interactive map at www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when.
Because there are instances where we can't upgrade every single street cabinet, we'd advise you to contact your preferred Communications Provider and use their line checker to find out whether or not your property will be able to get superfast fibre broadband.
Satisfy your need for speed, with downloads of up to 100Mbit/s and join our superfast fibre revolution.
Regards,
Openreach Marketing

I got these emails too, about the Ballymena exchange, what a complete and utter waste of bandwidth they are.

For what it's worth, I got this mail yesterday as well, about the Erdington exchange. The exchange has been accepting orders for quite a long time relatively speaking, but my cabinet (129) is one of the few in the area that's never been upgraded. Can't say I'm holding my breath for it to be upgraded any time soon either...

Who knows, your cabinet may not be enabled but you might have FTTP available! Somehow doubt it though, more likely a waste of bandwidth as has already been said...

I got one yesterday too, for my exchange at Yardley Gobion. They neglected to mention the exchange name though, with just "[Exchangename]" in the email. This exchange certainly isn't fibre enabled yet though, unlike a lot of the exchanges you guys have received similar mails about.

Have sent an enquiry email to see what is going on and asked why 100 Mbps is mentioned in all the emails I've seen.

I got two emails. one with {Exchange Name} and then a second with the actual name. As if it was supposed to be sent out.
My exchange is still on the under evaluation in somerset. The open reach checker stopped display exchanges yesterday too.
This has got my hopes up, but my head is telling me it is all in error. (from the days of the adsl rollout hassle in 2003-2005).

I got one about Sheffield Cutler, but when going to the www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when link in the email it still says NC (Not currently in rollout plans).
I'm guessing they just spammed everybody to get their hopes up

What exchange code is that one? Can see Sheffield SLSF but no exchange with a name of Sheffield Cutler

SLSF is the exchange code. I've seen it listed both as "Sheffield" and "Sheffield Cutler"
|

SLSF is showing as no cabinets offering FTTC currently. We see high speeds from Ask4, Virgin Media, PlusNet offices and maybe some Sky offices.
So if plans to do the area it might get some cabinets where overlap is not too great with other services via the last minute project to replace Digital Region, or maybe some of the extra £50m of commercial roll-out.
For now I am thinking its a big mistake.

I've also had 2 emails for my exchange in Kings Norton though it still showing on openreach site as UE (Under Evaluation).
I also had two emails, one with (Exchange Name) then another much later in the day with (Exchange Name) replaced with Kings Norton.

Maybe BT eyeing up 100Mbps now? I got email yesterday but saying I can get 300Mbps??

Just checked my spam and I have another mail, this time with the exchange name. When checking the website, my details still comeback as NC.

Go another e-mail from openreach. Looks like they are just winding everyone up.
We had a technical problem yesterday whilst using a new email system. The issue led to a number of people receiving inaccurate information about fibre.
Please ignore any emails you have received from Openreach in the past 24 hours and accept our apologies for the confusion this might have caused.

Oh we'll, wouldn't of mattered much to me anyway as I won't be using FTTC... I want fibre optic broadband

BT is saying that a new email system messed up and as people have spotted retraction emails are going out to those who got the email by mistake.

Disappointed that I ain't getting 300Mbps now? Thanks BT for fooling us!

Yes! After receiving a email from BT saying your (Exchange Name) Exchange. I thought we was eventually getting Fibre, I phoned BT they didnt know and told me to wait for more info and said to phone my Provider. I phoned Origin on the Digital region network as the DRN will close in August and im going back to the Snail speed they didn't have no info either. Later on about 5ish same day I had another email saying an Amendment to the email before (Exchange Name) now says (Sheffield Cutler) Exchange! WOW I thought brilliant and I checked if it was a Phishing email and it wasnt.
Day after I got another email saying it was all sent out in Error and if you received anything in the last 24 hours please ignore any emails. Well peed off!!! Everywhere round me is all getting Fibre, but not in the S2 area.
BT is a joke, and I have a feeling Sheffield Cutler will never be FTTC
Get a Move on BT give us some info whats REAL!
a Petition would be great for Sheffield Cutler. but would BT listen? probably not
