HG612 - Firmware updates JULY 2014

FYI, it seems that BT have recently updated the HG612's firmware again.

As a result, I have recently lost access to the HG612's own GUI, but Telnet & HG612 Modem Stats are still working.


It appears that the firmware version as updated in October & replaced by HowlingWolf's GUI version had these details - no-btagent version (provided via Les-70 in the Kitz forum):-

It may be worth checking the software version by using the command "equipcmd swversion display"

e.g. with no June/July update:-

# equipcmd swversion display
software version: V100R001C01B030SP06
xdsl firmware version: A2pv6C038m.d24j
cpu version: BCM6368
cfe version: 1.0.37-102.6
display version success#



My own current software version (GUI very recently disbled):-

# equipcmd swversion display
software version: V100R001C01B030SP08
xdsl firmware version: A2pv6C038m.d24j
cpu version: BCM6368
cfe version: 1.0.37-102.6
display version success#

Okay, looks like P08 is the new one then - I'm on P06 since last year, no interruption yet to update.

Wonder what causes it to update. I'm on standard BT firmware.

That would be a very good reason.

I've just noticed, it's only the software version that has changed.
