Hello, can anyone with some knowledge take a look at our cabinet layout?
cabs
2 corner cabs
What I assume is an FTTC cab
(the cab with the covering is the ye olde one)
We had digital region, which cabinet did that use? was it the one they are working on in the pic? Will this also be used for FTTC with our planned upgrade?
Im so confused, was a cab for digital region installed, now they have to rip that out and put their own one in? Or do they simply switch the new planned fibre into that digital region cab..
I'm so bad at explaining this I hope someone can make sense of it (trying to work out why we are having so many delays getting FTTC after the DR closure)

Ye olde one, on the left by the conservatory in the second picture, is your phone cabinet (PCP).
The one they are working on in pic 1, and side-on in pic 3, looks like a Huawei 288, as in the right-hand top picture on this page. Have a look at the vents and see if they are in the same places.
The one on the right looks like a fibre cabinet, but not an Openreach one. Different vents.
Do the manhole covers outside the (fibre) cabinets give a clue?

I dont know if that link was intentional or not, but you made me laugh at it, shame on you
lol
EDIT: As to the manhole covers, I know the two on the corner have BT engraved on the plates on the covers, cant remember for the bigger one next to the bus stop, but Ill be going up tomorrow to see if the planned roadworks are being done and have a look around.
So could the non-openreach fibre looking one have been what the digital region used?

Pretty sure it is that one, but what does this mean, its been there for 2 years~ along with the other tall green cab, during which time we've only had digital region.
I hate being in the dark with the delays ;(

99 time out of 100 I check links work. Occasionally with ones to my own site, I know they do so don't check, though I usually scan them in the draft. This time ... .
That was in my clipboard from when I discovered that page on the BBC website, and made this post.

The Cab on the right is a Digital Region Cab. You can tell by the little square sticker top right on the front of it with a Euro Funding logo.

The DR iifrastructure is completley seperate network --

not soure how much of DR netwwork will get picked up under BDUK or will be left as ADSL -- may be worth speaking to Local Authority to see what they are doing as part of BDUK

We are part of the 66% commercial plan and already have an FTTC cab sitting there, its just we have had constant delays and push backs.
There are roadworks going on where the cabs are for some kind of duct work but no openreach vans around and couldn't ask since they were working in middle of main road.
Can only hope its to power the fttc cab or something, cant believe its been sat there 2 years+ now with no life

How old is the photo of Openreach working on the FTTC cab then? I assumed it was current.
