My exchange SIMONSWOOD has recently changed to accepting orders on the openreach website http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ so I was hoping to be able to order fibre.
After more checking I've found here http://fttc-check.alc.im/search/ that I'm connected to cabinet 76 on the exchange which shows as being upgraded as part of phase BDUK Liverpool Merseyside 12a, and I can't order yet with any of the ISP's.
I haven't been able to find out where this cabinet is though, would anybody know how I can find the cabinet so I can see if there's a fibre cabinet near it yet?

The site probably means it is due to be upgraded, NOT has been upgraded.
No need to keep visiting cabinet, just check using https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html every few weeks as once ready for service it will appear on there.

Thanks very much I know where that one is, and I'm pretty sure there's no fibre cabinet there yet.
Hopefully it will be soon, I'm stuck on 1.5Mb at the moment, fingers crossed.
Thanks for the postcode checker as well, I hadn't found that one yet.

Sorry to bug you, but my brother who lives not far from me has just asked if there's any chance I can find out the info for him. He's on the same SIMONSWOOD exchange but on cabinet 80, would you know where that one is please?

Thanks again, I'd send the cornetto if it wouldn't melt before it got there!
I appreciate this and so does my brother, although he has got a fibre cabinet by his so I might be camped out in his house soon.

They said complete with number painted on it. Meaning, not only is this cabinet in the right place, but see it has the number on the outside so that you can be sure it's really the right one. Nothing to do with whether it has any services enabled or not.
