Clay Cross Exchange SLCX

Anyone know the current status of the Clay Cross exchange SLCX?

The Openreach website says future exchange - Dec 2014 however I have noticed Openreach engineers milling around upgrading existing old cabinets to new ones but not installing FTTC cabinets.

They are also doing work clearing ducts on the high street,

Fairly normal activity ahead of the roll-out.

Looks like FTTC is on the way and maybe to all cabinets apart from 14,15, 16, 22, 23 and the EO lines. Though they may of course get an upgrade in later phases.

I'm on Cab 4 which was one that was replaced last week. I was hoping a nice shiny new FTTC cab would appear but sadly not.

Just found this forum on a search. Do you know why cabinet 16 is not getting FTTC as stated in your entry?

I am connected to this cabinet and would like to know when it is scheduled to be upgraded.

Well all I can find is its not in this phase of upgrade, its seems its still may be under the BDUK Derbyshire FTTC Project.

They are currently upgrading cabinets 25 and 26 at the moment.

Not knowing your postcode I picked one on that cabinet and found the following:

Postcode: S45 9TG

Superfast broadband delivery: In Progress
Forecast further phases: Under Review

More than one phase? Areas are covered by multiple phases because broadband networks do not align to postcode areas.

Under Review - This means that plans for superfast broadband in this area are not yet confirmed. The project target is to secure solutions between now and the end of 2017.
