How to reported to BT for kids abused FTTC cabinet as I saw three lads and one girl stand on top of the FTTC cabinet and other kids kicking the cabinet. I was shocked to see this when I pick up milk from my local spar shop.

Sounds more like a call to 101 required. Contact Openreach only if the doors were opened or some other opening into the cabinet made. Or graffiti I suppose. I'm sure I found a web form when I reported some damage a while back, but can't find it.

I would take a photo of it, but knowing it not safe to take photo where the kids were around see it. Not risky myself. I have called police but they aren't interesting and asking me to ring my own service provider.

You could always get your milk from a shop in the opposite direction.

TBH, the cabinet can take these small abuse from little kids, it's only a concern if the doors are opened!
|
|
|
|
Unless you can see actual damage being done there is nothing openreach can do, and as you found out, it's hard to get the police interested. If it's a regular occurance then contact your local beat officers, they may have a word.
If you witness criminal damage call the police and/or BT security 0800 321 999

Should of told the police that you had a gun and would deal with it yourself and thank them for wasting your time...

The police tend to take that sort of thing literally these days and do a middle-of-the-night battering ram assisted search.

Anyway thats how people end up getting hurt, someone goes tells them off they gob off and throw a brick and the concerned citizen loses it and beats them to death....

If you talking about the police wasting money on pursuing the gun threat, then they should of done something about the dicks vandalising private property.

gets their attention at the end of the day. Doing exactly that (albeit over something other than a PCP) got a relative of mine six months in prison. Nothing to do with guns is taken lightly by the police.

If someone is stupid enough to threaten the use of firearms (especially over something unimportant like damage to property) they should be locked up for a few months to try and scare some sense into them.

[censored] can't you understand I'm trying to prove a point....
You are being a bit to serious.... though my point of someone getting hurt when they continue and then someone snaps and kills the shites is very much true... That's my point.

These kids probably all worship the Internet at home, they probably would be bothered if they knew they were potentially cutting themselves off from it.
Little sods.

I had contact Openreach 0800 023 2023 and gave them cabinet number and post code. They say I suggest not to touch the cabinet but if seen the door is open or damaged I have to call them back. But, they won't do anything about it if the kids play around the cabinet and kicking in.

There are many readers who don't post here, and hundreds of Anons every day. We know what you are doing, but some of them might not. They might think it would be a giggle to do that, not necessarily in the same circumstances.
Plus this thread and your post will be on google very soon, if not already.

Well this went downhill rapidly.
Kids, and some adults, kick street furniture. Street furniture is hardened precisely because it's in the street.
It'll probably be fine, nothing to see here.

Perhaps sticking sensitive DSLAMs with big battery packs out in the streets wasn't such a hot idea.
If only there were some other way to have boosted broadband speeds that didn't involve active equipment out in the field.

Indeed it did. And yes, the cabinets are pretty tough.
However I made the first reply to the OP. I regard it as simple vandalism and gave what I believe to be appropriate advice as to who to contact. We didn't see what was going on, and it is up to the OP what he wishes to do.
I also gave what I believe is appropriate advice regarding joking to the police about guns.

If only there were some other way to have boosted broadband speeds that didn't involve active equipment out in the field.
Then you end up with HFC cable, like VirginMedia and they seem to have about double the cabinets Openreach have even after fitting FTTC. Most of the VM cabinets have doors that have fallen off, and been taped shut! I assume they don't actually have electricity in, just coax junctions, otherwise that is a very poor show.

Theirs a bit of electricity in Virgin cabs but yes very true the cabinets do take some beatings and even getting left open in the winter..

Well, I'm sorry that my comments where out of place or even taste but I was trying to get a point across regarding the lack of support from the police..

'Tis not a big thing. PM follows with supplementary reason.

And when I've used that in the past they have been adamant that they need the postcode :-/
I reported a telegraph pole at a 45 degree angle across the road after an apparent RTC. Finding BT's number proved frustrating.
They too wanted a postcode but I couldn't tell them as I did not know the area well.
Gave up. Perhaps it has collapsed by now...

In all honesty I believe that the Fibre twin cabs are alarmed and their security controlled centrally somewhere in Bristol.
