My local exchange (Whiteparish, STWHPSH) is due to be upgraded to fibre under the BDUK program with a projected RFS date for end of September. I have quite a long line to the exchange at present (downstream attenuation 55db) but sync at 6.4Mbs with an SNR of 6.0 and the line is very stable. I obviously have a good line at present as my sync speeds are better than predicted for downstream attenuation.
The distance to my local cabinet is approximately 1.6km. What speed increase can I expect if I upgrade to fibre given the long distance to the cabinet?
