I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this
Telephone Number 0208642xxxx on Exchange SUTTON CHEAM is served by Cabinet 7
I have been watching availability for this line on this cabinet for years, the date has slipped and slipped until recently is disappeared altogether.
I visited the site today so had a wonder round, I found cabinet 7 and on the opposite side of the junction a shiny new cabinet with an 'Infinity is available' sticker.
Could it be a database issue? is there anything I can do?
Thanks
John

Maybe, one or two cabs vanish to then appear in a day or so

If you can provide to me your postcode, I might be able to check for you if you can get Fibreoptic now...

Well,
I can tell you (you probably already know) superfast is in your area!
I dont believe though that fibre has been installed in your cabinet yet. I have checked SamKnows, Roadworks and Openreach checker. Openreach says it "cannot check by postcode" and SamKnows says that the exchange has FTTC enable but then when it shows Cab data, It says nothing about Fibre on it.
What I would do is wait until November because BT are doing alot of work then so check again then...
Hope this helps

Thanks for taking the time to look, confirms what I had found online.
My interest was stirred today by physically seeing the FTTC cabinet and associated poster.
I will keep checking

The BT Broadband Checker shows for those connected to Cab 7 on the Sutton Cheam exchange:
"FTTC is currently not available on this cabinet due to following reasons:- Sorry it's taking us longer than planned to get your cabinet ready for service. Please bear with us.".
This suggests, since the cab is standing, that the problem is probably either blocked ducts or obtaining a suitable power supply.

You could set up an automated checker as described here http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/t/4313768-how...

can you post a pic of the cab -- are you sure it DSLAM for Cab 7 (will be with 100 metres of existing green box

The cabinets are not next to each other, but well within 100 meters.

Thats for PCP 6 , stood right next to it, PCP 55 is opposite, and PCP 7 is all alone by the pub

Thanks Ribble for clarifying
I am guessing the 'all alone' means no FTTC any time soon - darn

Road junctions are favoured locations for cabinets so you tend to get clusters in populated areas

What I would do is Chat to Bt online on the "online chat" and ask them to put you through to the BT WHOLESALE number. The Bt Wholesale is England so they won't lie to you. Ask them when you will get FibreOptic and then they will ask you a few personal details about phone line. They will check for you and tell you if there is going to be any work for next month and a half!

Why have two cabs soo close together, surely merging the two would have cost benefits
