Im posting within minutes of this happening.....so you will have to forgive any rage-driven typos.
I've waited for years for fibre broadband...or any broadband at a decent speed. The open reach site has continuously put the date back and back....until around 4 months ago when they estimated November this year...yey. Im a web-designer and current speed is 2mb, so you can imagine the issues it causes.
I've eagerly been checking the open reach site every day (yes every day) to get my order in early. Today the status has changed from coming soon, to HD (high demand). The up shot is that I still can't order it, and can't help but thing this message means that basically....I never will be able to.
So gutted, so frustrated.
There is literally a green box that I can lean out of my font window and throw a stone at, which has a sticker on it "Fibre Is Here".
Does anyone know if there is likely to be light at the end of the tunnel?

Try Plusnet. (Also be aware Plusnet have a Business option).

FTTC Range A (Clean) 80 80 20 20 -- 31-Jan-15
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 80 70.2 20 17.7 -- 31-Jan-15
ADSL Max Up to 3 -- 2 to 5.5 Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Does that sounds promising or am I being over-optimistic?

Sounds like they haven't quite finished the rollout yet. Don't entirely trust the superfast website so would recommend keeping an eye on that checker as it may suddenly become available.

Was there any text under the table, if its capacity and Jan 15 is the clear date for adding another line card then it usually says something.
Otherwise sounds like maybe someone has put the sticker on a bit too early.

Thats brilliant thank you.
The downstream line says 80Mbps.......I'm guessing thats an absolute maximum, rather than an estimate based on my phone number?
|
|

It's based on your phone number.

Wow...ok thats is good. So I'l be going from my current 2Mbps to 80Mbps!!

Depending who you go with it's going to be more like about 75Mbps maximum throughput.
With it being that low, you might decide it isn't worth the cost.
