Who gets first connection from new fibre cab?

Who gets the first connections?

FTTC is showing available on the Wholsesale checker and I can pick an install date on my ISPs website for a fibre install.

However I have spoken to my ISP and give them the go ahead for my fibre install.

However they have not got back to me with a date.

Unsure if because they are not a big player - they have been pushed aside for BT Retail, Talk Talk & Sky etc?

Does anyone have priority for new connections on a new cab or is it first come first served?

First come first served. How long since you ordered?

It does no harm to tell us the ISP, in case anyone knows of a problem with their ordering system. Many even keep an eye on these forums.

Openreach order system works by offering a choice of dates, you pick one and then this is confirmed, but it is possible at confirmation date that the slot is not available.

If the ISP site is letting you pick a date as part of the order process it may be they've not even got expected dates from Openreach yet.

So in theory it could be an Openreach issue?

My cab must have only went live in the last week.

The cab was only installed 3 weeks ago under Digital Scotland funding. Maybe that is why this has all so fast.

No, who said that ? Ring your ISP and ask them to sort it, it's their job.

When my local cabinet was upgraded it took a few weeks before it would show on the talktalk checkers, despite quoting for BT, Sky etc

I expect that was because they were later than BT Wholesale and Sky getting their GEA link installed at the exchange, and applied to all TalkTalk FTTC at your exchange.

I am pretty sure I am getting a resold BT Wholsesale product.
