Birstall (EMBIRSS) Cab 6

Parts of Birstall in Leicestershire are being upgraded via superfastleicestershire.org.uk BDUK. I am on PCP 6 (LE4 3NR) which I was told by the super fast Leicestershire project in November would not be upgraded until a second phase in winter 2016/17. According to the project team 3 cabinets are being upgraded winter 2014/15 and a further three winter 2016/17.

However around the 15th of December a new cabinet was installed next to PCP 6. The project team have confirmed that this is an NGA cabinet but are still saying that it won�t be activated until winter 2016.

Does this sound likely that BT would leave the cabinet for potentially more than a year before activating? Cabinet 2 which is on the same estate was activated in December and according to the project is in the first phase.

Could be issues routing the fibre. Usually though it would indicate that it's going live in the next few months.

Yes, but generally a reason behind it. Hopefully just a few weeks wait.
