Okay guys weird title I know but i've been waiting for my village (long stratton) to get the fibre upgrade since I moved there and today walking down the road I find this spray painted onto the grass at the top of my small housing estate. Does this finally mean the end of 1.2 upload speeds.

Well, you need a DSLAM for FTTC.

Was kinda hoping this would be the case it's just a tad confusing because on the openreach checker it always comes up with exploring solutions.

Sounds like FTTC is coming, but bear in mind it can take a while for it all to be up and running even after DSLAM cabinets get installed.

If the roll-out is part of a county led project then not unusual for the checkers to be behind, as seems some areas prefer no dates until actually live scenario.

We have had a DSLAM location marked up since June last year as part of BDUK . Keep getting told FTTC its coming. Just not when.. So yes it does mean that a survey for a new FTTC cabinet has been done and its planned for install.

In that case I shall have to keep an eye on the bbfn site as they have a update pdf that contains all he new locations and that keeps updated about every 3 months so it's due an update soon

quick update, the cabinet itself has been installed on one plinth then there is currently a second trench next to it which i assume may be for some power routing and easier access for new conduit. BT have been really active in the area in general recently obviously this install plus several other installs of new cabinets along the A140 towards norwich and also installing cabling according to roadworks.org.
