Fibre now at my cabinet.

Now that the cabinet serving my house has been fibre enabled and BT is offering it how long before other providers will also offer it.
TalkTalk LLU is at my exchange but say that fibre is not yet available from them.
Not sure how the process works but thought that a LLU provider would also be able to offer fibre, or is it not that simple?

If they are offering a fibre service from other cabinets on that exchange then as quick as they can update their order systems.

If its the first live cabinet on an exchange for the backhaul it can take a little longer depending on when TalkTalk ordered the custom link between the Openreach fibre and their LLU backhaul.

This is all presuming you are talking about FTTC and not FTTP.

Where I live it took TalkTalk about 11 months from the first cabinet going live on the exchange to offering fibre.

As far as I know only BT is offering fibre at the moment, just wondering how long it might take TT to also offer it if at all!
Three cabinets are live as far as I can tell so far.

Looks like it may be a long wait.

All ISPs except Sky and TalkTalk will be able to supply it if BT Retail can.

Why would those two be the exception?

Because they need a data link to their own equipment in the exchange.

Thanks, understand now. Guess it will depend on demand to see if it's worth it for them.
Not bothered about changing to BT as such but expect TT would be a cheaper option.
I am on an old TT offering and get free phone calls to many international places. Also get caller display for free which I understand BT is now charging for.
All such things need to be taken into account.

If Sky or TalkTalk already offer LLU ADSL at the exchange will they be ready to supply FTTC from the word go?

No it still needs a link.
