blaenavon exchange

hi all can any one plz give me any information when cabinet 2 on blaenavon exchange will be getting fibre , I thought a fibre cabinet when in but sadly a bigger new pcp as it has no vents there is fibre cabinets going in blaenavon but not by cabinet 2 yet?

any information out there guys? please

Someone might come along with a more helpful answer, though chasing after 12 minutes is just a little optimistic.

Is it commercial of BDUK funded? If the latter, then badger your BDUK people by email twitter etc. for an answer.

If there's work in the area, and your PCP has been "upgraded" then work *may* follow shortly.

What does the BT DSL checker say? Any roadworks on roadworks.org?

Nothing to report from here other than non of the cabinets on the exchange offer a fibre service at this time

there have been installing fibre cabs in town fibre coming soon the checker says http://www.superfast-cymru.com/where-and-when march 2015, btw great site keep up the good work

Cab 2 is planned to get fibre. Infact every single cab on the exchange is.

hi blaenavon has got fibre on some cabinets guess what still not mine cabinet 2 any news when cabinet 2 getting upgraded?

All cabinets will be enabled by the end of March

hi all any more info on cabinet 2 I think all cabinets are live only 2 isn't? the fiber cab is installed?

Be patient, new duct required across Woodland St which should be completed soon if it already isn't completed - is there scars in across the road near the PCP? When that is done it shouldn't be much longer for fibre and power. The PCP shell was replaced end of last year so work is progressing.

thanks yes there is a trench across the road with new tar mac on it?and the new fiber cabinet is installed

The wait for power and fibre now, like I said shouldn't be much longer. The power is installed by WPD and their contractors (usually Balfour Beauty) so keep an eye out for them re-digging around the new DSLAM.

yes there was a hole dug up right outsde the fiber cabinet but filled in today and tar mac over hopefully done fingers crossed

Work has started on cab 2, however we need to lay 16m of new ducting in order to get the cab live so there is a fair bit of civil engineering work yet to complete, so will be a few months yet. PCP1 is on the junction of Cwmavon Road and Coed Road (it's a black old cast iron PCP not green).

Its a bit small shown on Google Maps, also where did they place the fibre cabinet, not much space there, hard to see where it would be due to Google Maps hasn't been there since June 2011?

It would also be nice to even get fibre LOL.
