Posted a while back that fttc finally seems to be coming to my village originally the bt openreach site listed the status as coming soon but now its been moved to planned area, any idea why this might be i know the engineers where out in the main road clearing the ductwork not long ago and have been laying fibre all along the main road. it just seems weird that both villages either side of mine are likely to be enable soon and it seems like my exchange has been pushed back.

To be honest I don't place much faith in the Openreach coming soon indicators they move around and lack of detail leaves people guessing.
have you tried chasing Norfolk County Council for information.

Contacted bbfn and they said they will announce future phases via their information sheets which update generally quarterly. They did tell me I was in phase 8 though. Haven't got a clue what phase they are upto though

Phases are usually just an announcement, there is no guarantee that a phase will complete before the next phase starts

Also it doesn't help much if all 185 postcodes for that exchange are all EO Lines.

But EO are getting fixed in fairly large volumes now Yeah, but they would also need to install PCP cabinets as well as fibre ones, or maybe it would be an "all in one" type cabinets.
I was just saying that could add a little delay to the rollout, that's all.

Just making sure, as the internet has people saying EO means zero chance of FTTC still Yeah, sure, well even I have seen areas when doing look ups that have been EO Lines gradually get moved over to new PCP cabinets and to then get a fibre cabinet installed.

The village where my parents live is listed on Openreach's site as a planned area even though all 3 PCPs have got Huawei 288 cabs attached and two are already powered up. The one that isn't is just waiting for a duct blockage to be cleared so they can run fibre to it.

Are all lines really EO. Because in all the checks i did previously with bt checkers etc it came back saying i was connected to cabinet 5 which is sat less than 200m from my house. I was concerned that it might be EO because the exchange is only 650m away as the crow flies. The fttc cabinet they installed recently was a Huawei 288 and this is what my line is supposedly connected to http://www.robertos.me.uk/html/bt_furniture_1.html

If so, it could be the place most of us get the info from hasn't had an update since December 2014 (may get updated quarterly.
I skipped my usual speed checks due to this as well as too many postcode to check.

Six cabinets plus some EO
Know about cabs 2 to 7 and none are live for FTTC. Cabs 2, 4, 5 & 6 are the sort of size that might get done in a BDUK project, but Norfolk has a fairly low target in its current contract, and only 90% fibre based in its phase 2, so might be a long wait.
Cab 2 & 4 is a dispersed area,
Cab 5 & 6 looks like good ones for FTTC and would be the first ones I would do given Value for Money drivers in the phase 1 project if it was to arrive in the area

well hopefully if it makes financial sense to do cabinets 5 and 6 now it should make even more sense soon as the district council has agreed plan's for roughly 1800 new homes. Obviously cab 5 won't serve these but cab 6 could very well be close to the current building sites.

Or maybe developer decides to make them more attractive by gettin fttp installed
1800 would be too many for an existing cab anyway

Sorry to drag back up an older thread but just a slight update checked bt openreach today and my exchange is now accepting orders. Went to my isp and yep can place an order so that's what I have done. Not too bad a turn around really since cab was installed mid Feb and apparently live now.
