postcodes and fibre

Im moving next week and been to look around the new place today theres a new cab 20 meters from front door .
Just came of phone from BT and they are telling me the postcode ive been giving for the new place is wrong . Ive checked on the post office site and got another postcode did a fibre search and it says 9mb only .
But when i search a mates address 40 meters away he gets the full 80/20 same cabnet .


just clicked on bt openreach where n when site did my post office postcode and house number and it says the following .

Exchange name: Church Stretton

Status: Accepting orders

Good news. Your serving cabinet is enabled for fibre broadband. Please note, in a minority of instances that doesn't guarantee your availability. Contact your preferred communications provider for your home or business to order.


help anyone ?

Are you getting these figures from http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome using the full address option in each case? And the cabinet number is the same in each case? Sounds like a possible database error if so.

hi kevin . yes useing that website and entering the full address ..

I think theres been a mistake with the post code .
The post code what the housing gave me dont work but the post code from the post office postcode checker brings up the address

both postcodes feed of the same cabnet as well

Yes, the Royal Mail database is the only one that counts. The usual answer would be to order a product and see what happens, but with an estimate as low as 9Mbps you might even have trouble doing that. Over to someone with more knowledge to check it out - maybe you could post the postcode here.

can anyone else help ? postcode is sy66eh (postoffice postcode checker)
but this is the postcode what the housing gave us sy66el my mate is on that postcode and gets full 80/20 and hes 40 or so meters away from my new place.

The addresses in Willow Meadow (SY6 6EH) are showing as FTTC not available, those in Lawley Close (SY6 6EL) are showing as FTTC up to 80/20 (and with much higher ADSL speeds). Both show as cabinet 9 on the Church Stretton exchange so it looks like something is wrong on the database. You will not be able to order FTTC at all in Willow Meadow as it stands.

thats how i see it too . does databases get updated ? or looked at ? im 20 meters close too than Lawley Close (SY6 6EL ) just my luck lol...
