Several people from different areas are starting off lists on which cabs have gone live, how about I just post a weekly list of what went live that week i.e. exchange, cab and tech (FTTC or FTTP)

YES!
It would certainly stop the ever lengthening threads.
I have also asked before: what about splitting the Fibre Forum into two parts: One that covers the area/exchange/cabinet availability questions and another on the technical, how fibre works questions.

Splitting will be hard as availability so often crosses into the tech of why its not available to someone.

Great idea!! There a several that are getting annoying now as they are spread over 1 or more pages making new posts hard to find!

Um yh its a good idea but sometimes I enjoy having conversations with over members

The reasons as to why yes - same forum. They would typically be: power, fibre routing, blocked ducts,
However questions such as G.INP and ECI or Huawei modems OR I am 3km from te cabinets why can I not get ... for example would be in the second section.

Don't plan you to put you out of business, local knowledge will still be important, e.g. those little details on things like progress alerts as plinths appear for EO cabs etc

Hi MrSaffron
Not sure when they did it and how often it gets updated but for those BDUK cabs that have been installed with a FTTC DSLAM and accepting FTTC orders (and possible cabs that have been FTTC upgraded via the commercial programme) Superfast Cymru have made dashboard with an attached speadsheet of all the FTTC AO cabs.
Available from http://www.superfast-cymru.com/dashboard
However it doesn't seem to have any FTTP information at all.

Several areas do lists of cabinets now, but having a UK wide list might be useful as people can get an idea of how things are going, even outside their area.

Well I check the Ilford Central (LNILC) Exchange every 3 to 7 days takes a little while to check the remaining 14K addresses out of the +24K addresses for fibre.
From that I can see if any new address has been fibred up and what tech they get, along with the speed.

A UK wide list would be great for sure - I've almost given up checking the DSL checker weekly for when my exchange goes live - had the new sister fibre cab installed since last October yet no signs of anything being turned on yet.

Are you checking every address or 1 from each cabinet?
|

Are you checking every address or 1 from each cabinet? Every address for all postcodes for that cabinet.
There are only 15 postcodes.
*** update ***
Didn't realise that this was a different topic LOL.
Na I am checking 770 postcodes for my exchange.

Why not one address for each cabinet?
|
|
|
Ohh, jus trellised what this post was, thought it was the other topic I was replying to.
Well that doesn't help if BTOR have stopped work leaving loads of addresses with no fibre, and by checking every address I can see when BTOR have completed an address, i.e. they have come back to do more etc.

You only need to check one address for each cabinet until it is enabled. When it is you can check more if you want to know speeds.

You only need to check one address for each cabinet until it is enabled. When it is you can check more if you want to know speeds. Fibre rollouts don't work like that.
I originally use to do it that way but sadly found out that the one address that I was checking for a set cabinet never ended up with fibre even though nearly the rest of the road did, I have seen happen loads of times now that not all homes get given fibre even though their cabinet goes live, its the same with FTTP not everyone will get it even though they are using the same PCP Cabinet.
Which is why I check all addresses for my exchange, and now like I said only just under 14K address left to get fibre which only takes me about half a day to check, but I spread it out over a few days, cannot have BT moaning at me
All I do is click on GO and away it goes and I can just leave it going while I am doing other stuff.

An addition for the list
TEIGNMOUTH TE WWTEIG 25 FTTC
Went live on 6/4, probably accurate as I checked several times a day in the past 2 weeks! I had been campaigning and moaning for years to get it done so watched progress like a hawk, my activation is due today.
As I can spit on the cab I have high hopes 8)
