I can't get a clear answer from Sky to this question. I've recently upgraded to Sky Fibre unlimited. After various teething problems and an engineer's visit my speeds have settled down to the following stats below. Not great but better than before. My question is: Is there any way of improving my UPSTREAM speed? Would upgrading to Fibre Pro improve my upstream speed? Or am I already at my maximum speed? If I switched to another provider could I expect faster speeds. ( I am limited to a phone line. )
Connection Speed 16090 kbps 1249 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.1 dB 0.0 dB
Noise Margin 5.9 dB 6.6 dB
I did have Virgin Fibre at my last address and the speed was fantastic. I hadn't realised that the phone line broadband could be so much slower.

It looks like you're at your maximum speed unless there's a fault on your line causing the low speeds.

I am looking at these stats and thinking are you on ADSL and not FTTC. Obviously you are on FTTC, but the line looks to be poorly performing for the stats.
Are you on a long line from your BT green cabinet?
Moving to SKY Pro. Call them and ask if you can set the noise margin lower manually. If you can with pro, then you may be able to get a bit faster.

Thanks- I'm 0.8 of a mile away from the 2 cabinets by road which is probably how the cable goes. 1/2 a mile away by footpath.

What speeds did they estimate for you when you signed up?
Sky have no control over the SNRM, it's all negotiated between the modem and the cabinet.

i've just done a phone number check using my neighbours number and these figures have come back. I'm not entirely sure what they mean. But to the experts out there. Could I expect faster UPLOAD speeds using a different product such as ASDL 2 +? - Thanks.

The only figures I was given were up to 40 mbs downstream and 10 up for Fibre Unlimited.

You should check your broadband on Mysky. You should see something like this: Your Sky Broadband & Speed Estimate
You have Sky Fibre Broadband.
When you purchased Sky Fibre Broadband, we estimated that the Access Line Speed for your line was up to xx Mbps.
The actual Access Line Speed could be lower than this estimated speed range. If the speed is significantly lower please contact us.

Your sync speeds are within the down and up "Clean" estimates. That line is where everything to do with the connection between the cabinet and your modem is good.
The "Impacted" line is where you may have a problem. Either a minor one from the cabinet or a possibly bigger one with your home wiring.
ADSL2+ has an absolute maximum upstream sync of 1.3Mbps.
ADSL2+ Annex M wouldn't help you, due to line length. You would find it worse than adsl2+ on the downstream. The upstream estimate of 0.5Mbps for it suggests very poor upstream also on normal ADSL2+.

i'm with talktalk on a 1.1mile line from the cabinet. These are the stats from my router which arent far away from yours, just slightly faster. Could be down to wiring issues inside the house or back to the cabinet.

First, it would have been better if you had replied to the OP, rather than me.
Second, the OP put in BOLD that it is the upstream he is bothered about. Yours is lower sync.

Apologies for putting you out, I just replied to the last post and provided stats for a similar length line. I'll try not to be of assistance in the future......
