Believe it is a fairly new cabinet so may not appear on streetview but most likely to be close to https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.673,0.393042,3a,75...

Check your council planning site for 'Telecommunications Applications' for your area.

Your not using an EO Line due to you are using cabinet 9, I think you was an EO Line going by your distance from the exchange.
As for your distance your about 400m from the exchange (birds eye view) so just a matter of checking the roads and side roads from your home to the exchange, however going by your speed on both ADSL and FTTC I think the cabinets are very close to the exchange, so it may be a good idea to check there and work your way back to your home.

I can find can 6 but I suspect your PCP isn't that close as the DSL checker suggested around 54Mb speeds so I am guessing you could be about .5 - .6 km away. Depending which number you are and the quality of cables etc etc..

Ok I found cabinets 5 and 6 which are marked clearly with the numbers.
However I found 2 cabinets here :
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.673919,0.392287,3a...
Either have no number. I guess thats cabinet 9?

Of interest, the provided info is incorrect for my postcode since it quotes 'Distance to ADSL exchange' (actually 3.5km) as '515m', which is either the cabinet or where SamDoesn'tKnow thinks the exchange is (about 20 years out of date!) and I suspect the 'distance ' is 'direct' and not lineanyway since I approach 650m. Exchange SDWSTCH.

Without a picture they could be for anything, but location and them missing from streetview suggests it may be cabinet 9

In addition to the other requests and suggestions, are there any signs of trenching, footpath chamber work etc, in the immediate vicinity of those two new cabinets?
And where are they located with respect to the two phone poles at the ends of the straight footpath of that view?
|
|

There was roadworks on the corner of that road a few months back I think.
And the cabinets are the same side as the poles.

Ive checked the BT infinity checker and it says its availible in our area now so I presume they are all connected up.
Placed an order

Two vented cabinets next to each other would be unusual, did both have the airvent slots? Normally one will and one won't

The fibre cabinet has a PSU in it along with other computer type hardware so that needs cooling, PCP Cabinets are just normally panels with link wires and that's it (unless I am missing something), so no need for fans.

Possibly the wrong size cab was installed and the correct one installed prior to removing the wrong one.

To enlarge on Paul's answer, the FTTCs have active PSUs and also Battery Backup, allowing around 8 hours operation if the Mains is interrupted for a prolonged period.
the corresponding arrangements for basic phone operations and probably also ADSL, are in the Exchange, with significantly larger batteries.

Hi chaps
Went and took a picture of the 2 cabs today. I was wrong before. Here is the picture :

And to the question about roadworks, if you look here you can see where the road has been dug up before. Its been dug up again and now is black tarmack (where while zig zag lines are)
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.673748,0.392835,3a...
Also, whats the maximum capacity for that fibre cabinet?

That cabinet contains a Huawei SmartAX MA5616T MSAN (DSLAM).
Its capacity, as used by Openreach, is 4 line-cards, with 32 ports per line-card. The total capacity is thus 128 ports.
100% Linux and, previously, Unix.

Quick question chaps.
My HH5 was dispatched yesterday around 10am. However the tracking for royal mail only has the pre advice data.
In the event of non delivery, do BT engineers have spares on the van?
BT online chat has not been helpfull at all.
