Does anybody have a link to the correct firmware needs for unlocking a HG612?
Ive read that to be compatible with the g.imp thing the firmware version has to end in a xxxxx08, however I can only find one ending in xxxxx10 on the Kitz website.

Its not the 10 or 08 you need to be looking at but 10 is the right one that you need

Noooooo Sean.
Not easy for me to find the right one, using an iPad in bed, but the 10 is base 28 and doesn't support G.INP. The 08 is base 30 and does. Read the full version numbers.

Read the whole of the thread that is linked to by seansmit ... and as robertos says ...030SP08
Go to: https://mega.co.nz/#F!LdJFDIJL!e_E1twsIg2kTet8mPjrb4w
and you will see a list of three folders, select the B030SP08 folder and within that are three files original, unlocked, webgui - I used the third one and have access via Telnet and the Webgui.
I also set the IP address under Basic; LAN; to be a specific value say 192.168.1.234
Connect LAN2 to your router or switch and you can then access at will, knowing the IP address.

Thanks all
I got the unlocked firmware and I have followed the process to flash it to the modem.
Problem is now after uploading the new firmware to the device after a while I just get 'page cannot be display'.I can still ping the modem.
Almost seems as if it is not unlocking?

Just solved my own problem. Rather than using the firmware labelled 'unlocked' you have to use the one labelled WEBGUI

There are two ways of accessing the modem. Telnet, which I normally use, and the GUI. Both the one you used first and the GUI one have telnet access, but I can't see the point of the non-GUI version.
You get a lot more information through telnet. There are also two real-time monitoring packages you can run that telnet into it at one-minute intervals and use that full information to produce a number of graphs and a CSV log file.
Corrected as per burakkucat's post.

Thanks MHC, I got too bogged down in it and overlooked you had provided the exact detail.

There are also two real-time monitoring packages you can run that telnet into it at one-second intervals . . . <cough> (Pesky fur-ball.) I believe you meant to type "at one-minute intervals".

That's what it says .......................................................................................................................................now!
Thanks .
One could say that a second is minute ....
