Hi,
Due to more price hikes by BT (As most know) I have decided to leave but for who? I was looking at talktalk and as much as I dislike them due to the way the handled buying AOL I would be saving about £12 per month, I decided to have a look at plusnet but according to their website and the chat advisor I can only get 40meg when I know I can get 68.
I am on the Drumchapel exchange

I would have thought Plusnet would accept you on the 76/19.5 product on those figures. Was it just their online checker you have been looking at?
Many long-term users are thinking of leaving Plusnet by the way. I've only been there since Feb 2012 but for two and a half years from then have been strongly recommending them. Only a couple of times in the next three months, and not at all now.
Almost certain to leave within a month.
There are ongoing problems with their infrastructure, and the BT-appointed in December 2103 CEO has, after a few earlier downgrades to CS, now really wrecked it.
I don't want to be with a company that can mess its customers around the way they now are being.

Yea it was,
To be fair I am not too bothered about plusnet I was more inclined to go with TalkTalk as the savings are great, I will be paying about £47 per month after BT's price rises or I could go with talktalk for £30 for 12 months then £36 after which still blows BT away..
I am a heavy user so I would prefer to have a totally unlimited package. I must add BT have been great since I had them before I got infinity and a year after infinity still going good apart from the drop out that happens most nights at the same time but I wont get into that

I am the same too. I was long term as a plusnet member for almost 8 years now. ADSL2+ and FTTC with PN.
The customer service went from excellent to downfall since as no ones at PN seem care anymore which it such ashame.
I am consider switch to pulse8 (talktalk business fibre 80/20)

I decided to go with talktalk large fiber, but I am wondering about the 'estimate' I was given BTW estimate says 60 I get 67 and talk talk say 30-50.. Is this just to cover themselves

I wouldn't worry too much about TalkTalk's estimates...they tend to be on the conservative side. When i was with them on ADSL2+ they told me my line could only support 9 meg yet i was getting 17-18 meg (no tweaking). On fibre they estimated i could only get 55 meg yet i'm syncing at 79.999 meg

Thanks for that, are they good or as bad as everyone says?

Actual broadband is superb, customer service is pants over the phone which in a way is unsurprisng considering they charge peanuts. However their forum staff (UK based) are very helpful and can resolve most issues. Main reason i left TTR to join TTB was to get a static IP address, though the 7 day UK based top class support on TTB is very handy

I have been looking at Pulse8, which is TTBusiness based, in fact my phone line went over to them on WLR3 yesterday.
I currently have narrowed down my options to four. Stay with PN FTTC, move to full TTB with Pulse 8, AAISP Home::1 and yesterday wondered about TTB direct.
I've come out with £34 with PN, £46 with Pulse8 (including caller display and static IP address), £54 with AAISP, and it appears £41.18 with TT Business direct. Does that last figure sound right?

The cheapest FTTC 80/20 package with TTB direct is £40.20 pm (£33.50+vat), which includes line rental. But as you've already transferred your line to Pulse8, I would give TTB sales a call and see what price they would charge you for broadband only...they definitely offer it even though they don't advertise it on their website. You may even get it for free for 12 months if you live in one of the superconnected cities

I must have hit a wrong key on my calculator yesterday. Grrrr! I did start from £33.50 .
I'm sure they wouldn't do the FTTC without the line at an acceptable price, as Pulse8 drop the line price by £7pm once it goes LLU on resold TTB. It's only monthly contract with Pulse8 anyway, on everything, so I'm not tied at the moment.
I might ask TTB though, as you suggest.
