ECI Openreach FTTC modem and router stats

I've done a bit of searching around on this question, but I'm not totally clear of the answer.

I have the white Openreach FTTC modem from ECI - version ECI B-FOCuS V-2FUb/I Rev.B

It seems the only way to get router stats for this modem is to actually physically open it up and connect up to the printed circuit board (PCB) - there apparently isn't a way to do it without opening the modem box up, unlike the Huawei model.

My query is simple - have I understood that correctly, or have I been looking at out of date information?

Thanks for the quick reply... shame it's not possible without 'getting technical' but so be it.

I'm going to see what stats I can get out of the Home Hub 5 (it's a Plusnet Fibre connection so should work) - looks like you can only get a limited amount of info out of the HH5, but the RouterStatsHub software courtesy of John Owen seems to be a good way of doing it.

FWIW - I'm currently using an ECI - yep it's a pain not having line stats.
The only way I've found to monitor the health of my line is to keep an eye on my IP Profile using BT's official checker.

Presumably this only works for those whose FTTC service is delivered via BT Wholesale, so it wouldn't work for Sky or TalkTalk customers (at least those at LLU exchanges)... unless I've misunderstood things.

Yes that's right - it must be BT based to work.

NB. I posted this while I have a line issue of my own
Last weekend I lost half my VDSL speed - restarted router etc. rechecked IP Profile and it was still half my normal one. Picked a phone up and found it was dead. Tested in TEST socket, still dead.
xDSL only needs one wire to limp along while voice needs two wires - so I guess I've a breakage along the way.
I've been in the hands of Zen (my line provider) and OpenReach ever since... #Painful.
