Loss of FTTC

Just when I went to upgrade to Fibre -

Exchange MILE END is served by Cabinet 28

"FTTC is currently not available on this cabinet due to following reasons:- Sorry your cabinet is temporarily unavailable, capacity will be restored as soon as possible."

Is there anyway of finding out how long until the cabinet is given more capacity or is it just a question of periodically checking for updates?

Once they worked the numbers an ETA should appear

Does this usually take a considerable amount of time or is it equivalent to the length of a piece of string?

The cab has different resources that could run out:
- A new line card needs to be added, for more ports
- New tie pairs need to be added, for more connections to the PCP
- A new cabinet is needed, because the previous one is full

The time required is least for the first issue, and most for the last issue. It could be anywhere between a couple of weeks and 6 months.

Of course, anyone could give up their connection in the meantime, making it available instantly.
