Please Help Me understand my stats,,

Hi all
I am new to VDSL and trying to Understand why i am seeing loads of errors in my hg612 modem stats?

I have made a web server with all my stats that are updated every 5m

Could i have a problem on my line.?

My sync speed has dropped since today with my snr but speeds are still good.

Will the errors make my line more unstable and cause the speed to drop more.

I have replaced my master socket with a filtered one.
Have also replaced the modem cable with a better one..
After doing this my speed drooped a little! along with my SNR

I have been told on another forum that my stats are very bad and i may have a fault on my line but EE my isp is saying my line is ok.

Are my stats bad do i need to get get EE to get OE out i am thinking maybe it could be Something causing the errors maybe faulty Firmware on the HG612?

Sorry for the long post i am just worried that my line will get worse as the errors progress.

They're really not that bad. 2201 CRC errors in 637 minutes is only 3.45 per minute on average, which is fine.

If the connection is stable and is not actually giving you any problems, then I would suggest that you stop obsessing over the stats.

Your line looks fine.

The reason you are seeing errors is because your line is so good that currently:

1. You're on Fastpath
2. You have no interleaving (as you're on Fastpath)
3. You have no impulse noise protection (INP)

This means that any errors that occur will not be corrected, as the error correction is turned off.

Unfortunately you are on an ECI cabinet which currently doesn't offer G.INP. So your line is as good as it gets at the moment.

In the future DLM may decide to add interleaving and/or INP to your line which will reduce your errors but increase your latency.

Looks fine, nothing to worry about really.

One Last Q i am getting a new modem router soon.
I normaly stick to broadcam chipsets like the bilion routers.
Do you guys think the latest bilion vdsl modem router will be ok on my ECI cab?

Or sould i go for one of the other modems with a other chipset?

One problem is the the DSLstats monitoring only works on a Broadcom chipset.

I'm not really sure about performance on an ECI cabinet beyond what I can see on MDWS.

That's a broadcom chipset!
i have a asus RT78u on merlin firmware but dont like the firewall as i can't forword ip adresses from the UI
i was also looking at the fritsbox routers but not broadcom.
Some say that the FritsBox chipset work better on the ECI cabs but will take that with a pinch of salt..
The BiPAC 8800AXL looks like a nice router so think i was get one..

I've been using a Billion 8800NL since they first came out on an ECI cab and apart from an issue with the original factory firmware which was killing the upstream sync, I've had no problems with it at all.

It actually syncs slightly higher than the HG612 I was using before.
