To far away for fibre?

So according to superfast Cymru website my area IS getting fibre broadband (I'm connected to cab 1) (due to start Dec 2015)
However I received a response email from them saying " unfortunately it's unlikely you will benefit from the fibre roll out scheme", am i to far from the exchange/cabinet?

I'm apparently 2.06km from exchange. Would I see NO improvement to my BB speed at all?

It isn't distance from the exchange that matters with FTTC, it is distance from the DSLAM cabinet, which is usually located in the vicinity of the street cabinet (PCP).

Bad news, as far as am aware cabinets 2 and 3 will get a fibre twin from the SuperfastCymru project but nothing for cabinet 1.

Cabinet 1 is missing out because it serves a widely dispersed collection of postcodes to the west of the exchange at LLYSWEN which is 2 km away from you, and believe your cabinet actually further away.

So for now you look to be part of the 4% not being helped by the project. That might change in the future as targets get closer to 100%
