CityFibre has announced the conditional acquisition of the infrastructure assets of IT services provider KCOM Group for £90.0 million.

£90m. Is that enough for KC to do Lightstream to the rest of Hull?

With 35% of the city done, it would leave around 70,000 properties still. £1,200 per property should be enough within an urban area, right?

KC's coverage area is more than just the City of Hull area, though, and they've concentrated a decent proportion of their efforts so far in the villages & towns surrounding the city too. That coverage will appear in parts of the East Riding, but I'm not sure about the number of properties.

Edit: I just used ONS Nomisweb census data, for the number of residences in the area.

It reckons that the city itself, using the administrative boundary, has 116,000 premises (which means 75,000 still need to be covered).

However, there are 140,000 premises in the Hull "built-up area" (ie the city, and the immediately adjacent villages that act as suburbs) in total, and another 35,000 premises in the slightly-more-distant town & villages that make up KC's coverage area.

175,000 in total.
