Sky Fibre / router configuration

Hi

I recently joined Sky Fibre and have just noticed that my connection may not be as secure as I thought.

Apparently, my connection responds to pings, which can show my system as being online.

Apparently, this can be changed in the firewall of the Sky hub, but how would I go about this?

Login to the Sky Hub and navigate to the "Advanced" tab then the "WAN Setup" tab. Uncheck "Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port" and "Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port (IPv6)". Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Apply". That's it.

Not sure why I didn't see that first option the first time around.

I can't see the IPv6 option though, but thanks again!

Any security tips in the hub's firewall?

Disabling ping responses will stop you being able to use this sites bmq graphing if you ever want to check the health of your connection.
