Fibre available from June 2016- LIES!

Why is BT telling me this when I phone to enquire about upgrading to fibre? I am too far from the cab for Fibre, so why does BT say I will get it?

I believe the speed estimations are not generated until further into the cabinet build process so initially, when a cabinet is earmarked for upgrade, all lines connected to it will say "coming soon" or the likes.

Why are you asking if you know beforehand you won't be able to get it?

Just to see what [censored] BT would come up with to try and stop me cancelling. They lie or do anything to try and keep a customer!

I suspect this kind of thing happens all the time.
About 18 months ago BT retention team told me I would be getting fibre at my house within a few months. I later discovered I'm 5.7 km from the nearest FTTC cabinet...
I'm not sure if it was lies or just an ignorant member of the retention team.

Because you are talking to sales people, they sell stuff, that's what they do.

And they won't have spent the time looking at maps and other data sources to see what speeds you might or might not get.

As your Cabinet is being upgraded underthe BDUK Leicester/SEP Leicestershire scheme you need to ask them what plans there are to cover your property including in terms of any network rearrangement instead of asking BT who are not responsible for it.
