Interesting jump in SNR after BT did work on my cab

Interesting jump in SNR after BT did work on my cabinet a week or so ago.

Was getting a SNR of around 5.9 to 6.1 but now it's jumped to 8.8

No g.inp still though as I am not on a Huawei cabinet.

Any idea's about the sudden jump in SNR guys?

Connected at a bad time. Do a reconnection (re-sync) well inside daylight hours tomorrow. Late morning is preferable to late afternoon.

Edit: And please include the stats until the detailed error reports. They tell us about any interleaving and a few other things. Using --show instead of --stats does just what we normally need.

If you do what I said tomorrow you shold get quite a bit more.

Did you see what I said about xdslcmd info --show? We rarely need the stuff after "Bitswap", and that's where it stops.

xdslcmd does not seem to work on my d7000 and will probably leave it another week or two as I rebooted my router 2 weeks ago and the gain was only about 200kb on top of what I had before (although this was before the increase in SNR).

Stats looked like an HG612 which uses xdslcmd. What you've given is the output that gives.

There is no problem with re-sync'ing or rebooting the router and it's the only way you will get the higher speed available. It won't happen any other way. Unless DLM decides to remove interleaving, but a single reconnection shouldn't prevent that. As DLM tends to do things like that at night even that wouldn't give top sync.

Thought sod it did a reboot and now my SNR is back to 6.2 although my speed has increased which is a bonus like you said it would.

The actual 72Mbps downstream is about right for a line with 18dB attenuation. As for the 87Mbps Max rate - wishful thinking on the modem's part!

That's because of the interleaving. If/When that is turned off the sync will rise and the max available fall. A weird effect, but is what happens on FTTC. At least - when using an HG612.

Just done some speed tests and not seeing anything more than 56mbit which is what I got when it was synced at 62mbit.
