BT said capacity is expected in June, and that I can't place an order until there is capacity.
Zen said capacity is expected in September, and that I can't place an order until there is capacity.
Sky just said "no".
Any way to find out more info?

I recommend you set up a page watcher as detailed here http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/t/4313768-how... although I believe the version number has changed now. I use 41

Thanks, I'd actually already come across that post when I searched and have set up a checker. Very handy!
|
|
|
|
Hopefully, you changed the version to 41
What frequency did you choose?
|
|
|
|
Yep, did that. As noticed it doesn't display FTTC if you leave it at 29.
Frequency?

How often to do the check - daily, hourly?
I was recently in the same situation and the checker finally came up with availability. The order went in and the checker went back to "waiting list" within a couple of hours.

Version 29 or 41 - it make no difference. Mine still showing FTTC change in version 29.

Ah, that's interesting to hear. I was going to ask if the checker would simply go to "Available" if one person cancelled their account. Sounds like that's the case then. Will have to keep an even closer eye on it.

Oh, if I change the version from 41 to 29, the FTTC parts disappear: http://spdr.me/10Yin

Some may do without even knowing.
We're adding the functionality but found a recent order placed went on the list even though not being submitted to do so. Normally they are rejected with a suitable message informing no capacity but this one was just held (and since committed - took 17 days for those interested).

it seems like no ISP does
Zen told me:
Unfortunately we do not have that facility

is funny BT do a waiting list, whilst VM just add splitters and overload the cabinet
|
|
|
Is there any way to speed up the process of the waiting list?
Perhaps get the neighborhood together to sign a petition or call somewhere regularly to show urgency and increase awareness of the matter?

It doesn't matter, using a 75 threaded download speedtest you still get the full 200Mbps

Just signup for a service provider who supports the Waiting List process. Places become available fairly quickly for all the ones we have catered for, even if the checkers don't update statuses.

No... and a waiting list order only remains valid for a certain time which I believe is three months. After that time you have to place a new order and return to the back of the queue.

Plusnet, the provider I'm currently with, tell me I have to call them when the status changes on the BT DSLChecker... Doesn't sound like they support or have a process to have orders for FTTC waiting lists.

Are you wanting to upgrade from ADSL2+ to FTTC with Plusnet, and your cabinet is also full? Or are you waiting for your cabinet to be FTTC enabled, which is a different thing altogether?
