Moving home to a poor fibre area

I need some advise please, I'm moving home to a small development known to have poor BB speeds (80 homes). It's a fair distance from the FTTC and the best download speeds are around 9mb down & 0.8mb up.

What would everyone's suggestions be to get this improved?

What steps can be taken to engage Openreach or similar to make improvements? Is there a website everyone on the development could register and commit to a product if openreach were to invest to improve the services. I'm guessing this could include a closer cabinet or an upgrade of the existing cabinet and deploy FTTP etc.

Any suggestions or steps would be appreciated.

Find out if the local BDUK project has any plans in that area, approach your local council to find this out. If not then approach http://www.communityfibre.bt.com/ and get those homes to sign up.

Be aware the community fibre scheme usually involves community gap funding the cabinet, i.e. its not enough to get registrations from everyone.

Despite t saying it's fibre enabled area, it's ranging from 5-15mb... Even at best I still think it's poor. I'll register and see why response I get. I'll look to do a door knock once I've moved in

Understood, hopefully spreading the cost across 80ish homes (if they're prepared to invest) would help spread the cost.

Is the 9 down on a fibre like or ADSL2?

The cabinet is 2.2 miles from tha cabinet (according to google maps) but i'm not sure what route the copper takes to the house. The cabinet is FTTC enabled but due to distance the speed is pathetic therefore can't be called fibre/infinity.

You're likely looking at around 20k plus for the funding at least.
Thats what happened to us but the developer (as its a new build stumped up the money).

It's taken a year of planning/waiting but they stood the AIO cabinet the other day so another 6 weeks or so we have been told to get a bit boost in speeds.
