When I search my address into BT's DSLchecker search, the VDSL products no longer display in the table, yet they do for nearby addresses connected to an enabled cabinet.
Does this indicate that plans have been cancelled to enable my cabinet, or is it just a temporary glitch in the system? Or have they permanently removed those rows for non-enabled cabinets?
Thanks!

Is it a new cabinet?
Do you have an active line?

It's not a new cabinet, and has previously displayed the VDSL products over the past 5 years - which is why it's worrying me.

Have you always been connected to Cabinet 8?
Codelook shows P8 on Ranmoor as being connected. The openreach checker shows the same.
I would suggest this is possibly an infill cabinet, but codelook seems to suggest it's part of the commercial rollout. Have BT installed any commercial infills or are they limited to BDUK projects?
Either way, the DSL checker seems to suggest the planned live date for your cabinet is currently the end of December, although this may slip if there are problems connected the new cabinet.

Yeah, I've always been connected to P8, and it's definitely been there a while (I know it's been there 5 years at least). The protective outer case of it used to be one of them old solid iron ones, so I would imagine a couple decades. It's definitely not an infill cabinet.
The reason I'm worried that they might've abandoned plans for an upgrade is because a month ago I received an email (after dozens of others) stating that it needed new ducts installed for the cables, and that it was pending approval - the work never took place (as far as I know - no roadworks listings appeared), so I presume it was declined.

Don't believe the cabinet is live its down as "We're connecting power to the new fibre cabinet and joining the new fibre lines to the existing copper network." and looks like they may have had snags with the power due to the ETA being set in past.
PCP number 8 has been there for years, but VDSL2 has not.

Oh, I'm fully aware that the cabinet isn't live with FTTC services, but they've been listed with a due date for the past couple of years. What I'm trying to figure out is why they've disappeared over the past week or so.

That used to happen quite a lot two or three days before it came up as live. It did with ours.
Maybe it still does.

Generally its an indication that something is in the process of changing, sometimes capacity as others suggested (i.e. they thought you meant it had been live before) but also sometimes when things are being changed.
There is some scope for this as the cabinet serves two distinct clusters of premises, and a small possibility some are about to be moved to a different cabinet, or they've got the power issue sorted and it will reappear live.

Well based off previous roadworks listings, it would appear they have yet to install some duct (whether for power or fibre cabling I don't know) as all the related listings on roadworks.org were cancelled early. I haven't noticed any for the local cabinet for many months now, and I've been checking almost daily.
With the clusters of premises, unfortunately the block of houses expecting a slower speed (which includes myself) won't be moved to a different cabinet as a lot of them were moved to P8 as part of the local BDUK scheme, despite expected speeds (previously) estimated at less than 15Mbps on DSLChecker.

There's no way my cabinet is anywhere near the live date. It's only on the "connect" stage, and there's still loads of ducting to be installed beneath the roads.
I'm starting to become worried now that this is an indication that they no longer plan to upgrade the cabinet, which is something I really am in need of.

I believe this might be a temporary error or a permanent change to the DSLchecker table, and not specific to my cabinet. I have tested a couple other commercial cabinets which have yet to be activated (on other exchanges), and none of them are displaying the VDSL estimated speed rows.

My cabinet (St Helens cabinet 4) is also showing the same. It's happened a few times before but always goes back to normal after a few days.

It's a little odd in my case. I've had email alerts turned on for the dslchecker results of my cabinet (using followthatpage.com), and it does occasionally happen for an hour or so every few weeks, but it's been like this for almost a week now, which is a first.

Its been there for a couple of years now, I did some searching for that cabinet for another user on these forums.
The PCP and FTTC Cabinets are located here:
[PCP 8]
https://goo.gl/maps/kkJWgrUpW2D2
[FTTC for PCP 8]
https://goo.gl/maps/JFFmSFq21yj
Its been stuck at the connection stage for at least a year or two now.
So something isn't right.
Its still listed as a commercial upgrade (though might change to BDUK South Yorkshire later on) but for now I would suggest the OP fill in this for and basically ask openreach and for section 8 they MUST choose "Why is there a delay in providing my fibre broadband?" then wait upto 10 working days for a reply.
And if that fails they could email Gavin Patterson (CEO of BT / BT Group) and or Michael Rake (Chairman of BT) I emailed both and got my FTTP installed.
Also the OP needs to be polite when explaining the issues, going off in a hissy fit helps nobody.

Hey Paul. Thanks for the information!
I had previously contacted them through the mentioned enquiry form (possibly a dozen times over the past year), and I received a somewhat useful response last month where they stated
The work is pending with Line Plant Approval/ Civils Team, and we are expecting the work to be completed by the End of November 2016.
This doesn't seem to be happening, however, as I've noticed nothing listed on roadworks.org and I've seen no work being done in the surrounding area.
My local BDUK team told me (albeit more than a year ago) that my cabinet is financially viable and won't be a part of their project.
Is it best waiting this out, or is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

You also need to understand not all work gets put on roadworks, only work that needs planning permission, like digging up roads, pavements and road / pavement closure etc.
We had 3 engineers work on our Splitter Node for nearly a whole day and that work didn't even make it on roadworks.
*** update ***
Have you tried emailing the two people I suggested?
I know the chairman's office has been in contact with us all the way since I emailed him and I got a rather nice compo deal for being messed about.

Yeah, I would've thought that most low-profile work doesn't get listing on roadworks, but as far as I'm aware they've yet to install over 100 metres of ducting under the roads and footpaths - which I would assume would require explicit permission in advance.
I'll try contacting the two suggested contacts, hopefully they'll be able to shed more light on the situation and possibly reduce delays a little more.
Thanks once again!

Well if BT already have underground ducting already in place then its just a matter of pulling through the fibre tubing, copper cables etc.
However if its power, that might be a problem due to its on a corner of slope.
I do recall seeing some work for that cabinet a year or two ago when I was looking up information for somebody else, though I might be wrong.

Yeah, its worth a try.
Also try getting your local MP involved as well, my local MP got the ball rolling and with our constant complaining LOL we got ours done
