HG612 settings

Got a HG612 modem running along side my Home Hub 5.
Been having a few 'firewall' issues on Xbox Live recently and wonder if it's due to the firewall on the HG612.
Should the firewall, UPNP etc be on, on it as the HH5 is doing the routing?
