FTTC lead times.

After many years of waiting and having cope with 1mbps ADSL my father now has FTTC thanks to fastershire. He called talk-talk on 23rd March was given a go live date of 3rd April but when the confirmation letter came through the go live date is 19th April. He's not that bothered as a couple more weeks doesn't matter much but it does seem to be a long lead time. My question is is this a long lead time, standard or for that matter should I be counting our blessing how quick it is?

If talk talk are waiting for a cable link (or an additional one) in the headend, then that could be one explanation.


I suggest ringing and asking.

A period of 2 to 3 weeks is normal, so at just under 4 weeks its not unduly long
