Fibre on demand now available

I've notice fir bee on demand is now available to my house

Is it possible to get the line swapped to fttp but remain on an 80/20 product?

I appreciate big install cost, but my copper line is [censored] so would be good to make full use of 80/20

Do a search for some other FTTPoD posts here. It's not as easy as it sounds. I think there are potentially very high costs for this.

See my recent FoD experience here. Another user's experience here but that's going back a few years when installs were taking months/years.

Currently the Openreach FoD product is only available in the 330/30 Mbps variant, though technically you could take out a lower speed (80/20 or 40/x) FTTP service on the second/third/fourth ports on the Openreach ONT.

I don't mind the construction charges but obviously they are apportioning some of the cost in the monthly fee which is a none starter for me.

Maybe things will change over time
