My postcode is CH7 1EG.
According to https://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm?xid=7... our postcode is served by P20 which should have gone live in July 2017 and Exchange 2.
When we moved into that postcode, the DSL checker said our property was connected to P29. This was checked using the phone number and the property address. It turns out this was wrong - Openreach came out to do an FTTC install but said we actually had an EO line along with everyone else in that postcode, except for number 3 which apparently is connected to P29 according to the DSL checker.
The property is located opposite the front of the exchange building on the same street. On the other side of the exchange at the rear, FTTP is available! This year, Openreach installed a new all-in-one PCP outside the front of the exchange and recently there has been a number of road works associated to the cabinet. According to roadworks.org, the cabinet has undergone both power and fibre work.
The cabinet has no number on it. According to the telecom-tariffs website, there are 4 cabinets not yet live but it also says our postcode is served by Exchange 2. I'm guessing this is us and our EO line?
Assuming the cabinet is still not live, what will happen when it does become live? Can we request to be reconnected to that new PCP and then get FTTC? If not, what's the purpose of that cabinet?
