This briefing is to inform all CPs that we'll be carrying out a Proof of Concept from 20 October 2017 to apply XdB to a subset of GEA-FTTC ECI lines.

Finally gong to try lower snrm targets on ECI DSLAM's.
That's without G.INP being rolled out yet.

That answers quite a few previous am I/am I not on a 3dB target from users on ECI cabinets.

I don't see the point in this being done until G.INP is done (if ever). I can't imagine a lot of lines supporting much less than 6 dB without going ILQ amber or even ILQ red.

Retransmission trial started last week and will reach 600k lines by the end of Dec, with the whole ECI estate expected to be completed by March 2018.

The XdB trial will involve just one cabinet and will be expanded in Dec to 50k lines. If everything goes to plan, roll out will be in early/mid 2018.

After several years of a 6db SNR from my ECI cab connection, my Zyxel SBG3300 has been sitting at 3.9db for around 6 months.

I assumed that this was the ECI trial.

So if the trial still has to take place, I wonder why my modem has been behaving differently. Possibly a past firmware upgrade.

I thought that was delayed again?

A resync before crosstalkers usually gives that result on an ECI cabinet.

It was.

Original planned start was 11 Sep and actual start will be 25 Sep.

Those 2 statements conflict.

I hope for everyone on ECI cabinets that it does start on Monday. Won't be surprised if it's not though.

Agree, not worth unreliability just to get a bit more speed.
