G.Fast coming

I'm in Bath,on the Kingsmead exchange, one of the area's for the extended G Fast trial,we have the G Fast pods appearing on almost all the cabinets in the last few weeks, a few old cabinets need reshelling before they get a pod.
Noticed yesterday & today a lot of activity around the G Fast pods with BNE & OR engineers working on them.
Being nosey, I got talking to one today, he wouldn't say much about G Fast,ask when is it coming,just it's imminent,but he wouldn't or not able give me an actual date though..

LOL. My BT insider has just messaged me confirming your 2024 date and apologised for misleading me earlier. ))))

Is any ISP offering a G.Fast service yet?

Only in trial areas.

Openreach have not yet released it as a product.

There's been no reports of new trial areas going live yet.

Check on http://dslchecker.bt.com/# if it says g.fast is available you should be able to order, but there was only a few isp's in the trial

With all the activity going on here with engineers working on the G Fast pods Friday & Saturday,something is going to happen pretty soon I reckon.
Couple of weeks ago, a BNE engineer was fitting G Fast pod to my cabinet, at 6pm, which surprised me.

I wonder if the Infinity 1 speed upgrades are related, and as some have joked Infinity 2 will be the lower teir g.fast.

Pretty sure there some connection between the two, guess we will just have to wait & see what happens on monday.

Me too and my Cabinet's now got a G.Fast pod. Nothing on the checker yet but I'm not checking very often.

P19 in Rochdale now has a G.fast pod attached although I'm pretty certain the full cab has been replaced.
