**** *****35 - DSLAM 407637, 407638 - STREET CABINET & POWER INSTALLATION. Excavate to lay approx 7m BT ducts, Lay concrete plinth, Stand cab.
Permit status:Granted
Also says Work about to start
This information from roadworks.org seems to me like a duplicate. (Without all in one Cab at the start)
The site had a month or so back had the same relevant information about a DSLAM Cab being installed and true to the word work was going ahead.
However it now states the same thing again? Is this separate work on the same Cab or fitting a new one?

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes correct, those are the two jobs. However the DSLAM Cab is on pound Hill which is opposite the Oval. One says that the says Oval. This is why Im confused. The Cabinet has already been installed however no power to it yet so was looking for a little more information as youll be lucky to get anything out of BT themselves.

No work seen as yet. Walk dog that way every day.
When this new Huawei 288 cab was installed, thought Openreach had installed power to nearest pole. There certainly was a trench dug to there.
Declare interest:- live up Saham Hills - we supposedly already have FTTC from Cab 8:-
VDSL Range A Down high 3.2 low 1.7 handback 1.3
ADSL Down Up to 1 Range 0.75 to 2.5
but currently on ADSLmax ~4Mb/s connection speed down to 2Mbs or 1Mbs depending how far up Hills Rd.
Even BT say best to stay on ADSL!
New cabinet (the one opposite The Oval) is NOT shown on CodeLook, not even as planned. Presume it's some sort of infill, which may or may not feed us. Too big for just local Oval estate. Approx 200 houses up Saham Hills/Hills Rd just waiting for a decent service.
Position of Cab8 which feeds everyone is not as shown on codelook - is actually at road junction near Saham Mere - 1000m away from shown position.
Wish Openreach would tell people what is planned. Presently we just live in envy of the stories here of 300Mb/s or even 30Mb/s.
Done what I can with Mk3 box/filter and Billion router instead of dangley filter and BT HH4.
Live in hope.

Work never happened.
I think this is the second time this has occured since cabinet was installed.
According to roadworks.org the entry was updated on 16th, only a few days before so someone must have planned this.
Anyone know how this occurs? Maybe pressure of work?

I reckon it will get done, it took BT 3 to 5 times to get around to convert an old chamber to the new version.
So just stick in there, it will probably popup again on roadworks within a month or two.

Not really, this is BT we are talking about.
Don't be surprised if it still doesn't get done this time round, work to rebuild a chamber down my road was down to be done around 4 or so times, before it was finally done.
You might be lucky and it gets done this time round.
It all depends on if there is enough safe space around the required area, if there is workers available around that date period etc.

The key to keeping an NGA rollout cheap is to ensure that the workers are 100% working, with 100% efficiency. Even on a project when things can go wrong unexpectedly.
One way to kill efficiency is with delays caused by bureaucracy.
One way to improve efficiency is to have a plan B (in some other location) for people to work on, if plan A goes wrong.
Combine the two together, and it makes sense to over-plan with regard to the roadwork notification bureaucracy, as there's no penalty for doing so.

Work completed.
We now have a shiny new PCP alongside the Huawei fibre cabinet complete with new chamber across the road where the existing cable will be intercepted. Just needs wiring up now.
Looked again at CodeLook and it could be P35 eventually? So, February maybe.

Some stickers have appeared on the cabinets.
35 on the pcp and electricity arrow on the huawei.
Looks like things are moving..... slowly.
Just keeping up-to-date.
